here’s my wonderful sidekick and I!

over the holidays, I kept trying to get her to start her own blog!  trust me her chongqing adventures would keep you all highly amused! not to mention now that she’s gone stealth and has her vpn (which btw she discovered thanks to c,h and i that we have here in the states as well) she can actually read my blog!  alas she’s not taken me up on the idea yet so instead i’ll share some of her travels with you…

first of the stories will be about her and her two sidekicks: grant and rosemary.  the three of them are practically inseparable and often find themselves dining on dumplings and beer at a local hot spot.  well in china they don’t believe in large glasses and the three amigo’s beers are  always poured into small tea cups.  after suffering for over a year with these tiny pours, grant was fed up and purchased three tall beer glasses for them to use!  so off go the three amigos to the local haunt, tall glasses in hand.  after some motioning and mouthing, they convinced the waitress to pour their beers into the large glasses.  however in true expat fashion that couldn’t be the end of the story!  within the first few sips, grant accidentally knocks over his glass sending a full mug of beer everywhere. {insert: chinese waitress shaking her head and i’m sure thinking “i told you so!”}
