“stillwater’s jumpin’ little juke joint”

i know i may be biased with a daddy who went to school there but eskimo joe’s located in stillwater, ok in the shadows of boone pickens stadium next to the campus of oklahoma state university is one of my favorite places on a college campus.  it far surpasses a top of the hill, a duke chapel or even a downtown getdown.  and after 34 years in business their t-shirts can be found worldwide as well as advocates of their famous cheese fries.  even the elder president bush endorsed the fries during an osu commencement address.  i’m never far from my color changing tumblers or go to aqua t-shirt and the success of joe’s has led to mexico joe’s and the italian version joesppis.

all of this joe love led me in college to wonder “why doesn’t fsu have anything like this?”a watering hole for loyal fans, before & after games.  think about it.  how crowded does appalachee get with people headed off to chilis or another chain restaurant, where can tailgaters go to see other games, what if they could just migrate over to an fsu staple?

which further led me to wish i had had money in college to swoop up the old abandoned frat house next to the painted lady, what would i name it you ask?

in other news, the (not quite there on the “my” part) jags have been sold and the coach fired, carmax is willing to shell out $800 for honda (she’s so under appreciated!), one of the smartest guys i know has been offered an amazing job in beirut, paps is off to alaska, i’ve learned mr. wik is a huge fan of carrots, i also learned that pops had another young thing interested in him (besides mums!) when he was the school bus driver, strawberry margarita opi does in fact look as good on fingers as it does toes, peanut butter pie is a complete weakness of mine (thanks Lil!) and the burning of five different holiday candles at once is not a bad idea.
